Soviet Medal for Irreproachable Service in MOOP of Belorussia(Belorussian Soviet Socialist Republic), 1st class (for 20 years of service),1962-68 issue.
GUARANTEED 100%ORIGINAL, official Soviet award from the 60s – not a souvenir, recent reissueor replica!
Made in Brass, SilverPlating and Enamel. The medallion measures 32.0 mm wide and weighs 15.9 gramsnot including the connecting link and suspension.
The medal is in GREAT condition. The enamel has a couple of tiny “dot” imperfections from minor impacts, butthey are not very noticeable. There are no chips, flaking, or visiblescratches. The silver finish is perfect and bright on the obverse and has onlyminimal wear to the raised edge on the reverse; there is also minor wear to therim, but it is only noticeable from the side and not detractive at any rate. Theribbon is very clean. The connecting link between the medal and suspension isoriginal and hasn’t been cut.
MOOP stands forMinistry of Protecting the Public Order, a temporary substitute for MVD duringthe 60s. This particular variation of the MOOP medal was issued by the GeorginaMOOP. The Belorussian long service medals are among the more difficult to findin this series, apparently due to a relatively small size of this republic'slaw enforcement agency. In 1968, the law enforcement ministry of the SovietUnion re-acquired its old name MVD, and the MOOP medals were never issuedthereafter.
A great chance toacquire a scarce, historically significant Soviet law enforcement medal.
