Soviet Military Guard Badge WW2. I bought this in the early 90s in Germany. You also get two badges that are meant to be attached to hats.


The "Guard" badge is an oval laurel wreath, the upper part of which is covered with a red banner unfolded to the left of the staff. The banner has an inscription in gold letters: "GUARDIA". In the middle of the wreath, on a white field, there is a red five-pointed star. The banner and star have a gold plated rim. The flag shaft is intertwined with a ribbon: the tassels at the top of the shaft hang down on the right branch of the wreath. In the lower part of the wreath there is a shield with an inscription in raised letters: "USSR"


The sign is metallic and gilded. The cloth of the banner and the star are covered with ruby-red enamel; the field, bordered with a wreath, - with white enamel. The dimensions of the sign are 46 mm in height and 34 mm in width.


In the middle of the reverse side of the badge there is a threaded pin with a nut for attaching the badge to clothing.
