$99.99
Item Description
Soviet Air Force officer’s peaked cap (фуражка), 1987, size 55. Everyday pattern used from the mid-1970s through the end of the USSR, not a general’s cap.
What it is
• Branch: Военно-воздушные силы (VVS). Khaki crown, light-blue piping, blue wool band.
• Rank class: commissioned officer. Gold filigree chin cord (allowed from 1975 in place of the black leather strap worn by enlisted and warrant officers) and the two-piece gilt set: winged star on the front of the crown, and the 1969-pattern cockade (red enamel star with hammer and sickle inside a gilt wreath).
• Visor: black lacquered fiber or plastic, the late-Soviet type. Side buttons are the small gilt star buttons.
• Maker and date, from the diamond sweatband stamp: ЛПО головных уборов «Ладога», Боровичи, Советская 113, 1987 г. (Ladoga headgear association, Borovichi plant). Yellow stamp 55 is the circumference in centimeters, about a US 6⅞.
Condition Shape is held, both badges and the cord are present, piping is intact, and the lining looks clean. Light age only. No obvious moth, crush, or missing parts in these photos.
