The Mound of Glory is a majestic memorial complex in Belarus, erected to commemorate the victorious conclusion of the Belarusian offensive operation "Bagration" in 1944. It was unveiled on July 5, 1969. The 35-meter-high earthen mound is crowned by a monument of four titanium bayonets, each 35.6 meters high. They symbolize the four fronts (the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Belarusian and 1st Baltic) that liberated the republic. At the base of the monument is a ring adorned with bas-relief images of Soviet soldiers and partisans, and inside are the words: "Glory to the Soviet Army, the Liberator Army!"Soviet partisans made a colossal contribution to the victory in the Great Patriotic War (1941–1945), acting as a "second front" behind enemy lines.
