SovietRussian Bas-Relief of Lenin and Stalin on a Triangular Plinth, uncommon design, circa late 1940s - early 50s.
This is 100%GUARANTEED GENUINE Soviet item, not a later replica or souvenir.
In solid castaluminum, stands 6 ½” tall, the plinth is approx. 7” x 3” x 6”. The entireassembly is rather hefty at nearly 2 lbs.
Looking at theunusual design, it appears that it was clandestinely made at a factory by aworker who had access to aluminum casting equipment and an artistic inclinationto express his adoration of the communist leaders in this way. Quite possibly,it was made in 1949 when the entire country was in a DIY frenzy creating gifts forStalin’s 70th birthday.
In very goodcondition. The paint coating the bas-relief and pedestal is partially worn offbut mostly intact. The rivets holding the bas-relief and plinth together are tightand strong.
