RARE Soviet Army, KGB or Air Force officer's full-dress belt with dagger hangers, 1970s-1991.
This is a GUARANTEED 100% ORIGINAL, Soviet-era item made for the Soviet military – not a reproduction, souvenir, or post-Soviet issue!
The belt is in yellow artificial silk, woven to simulate gold brocade. Large brass buckle shows Soviet military star insignia with the hammer & sickle.
The belt is in EXCELLENT CONDITION, either unissued or very lightly used and showing only a storage age. The brass hardware is nicely preserved showing an attractive even patina, no blemishes or excessive tarnish.
This belt is not easy to find, especially in a nice condition! Changes in the Soviet uniform code in 1958 made daggers virtually obsolete for both Army, KGB and Air Force officers. Afterwards, they would carry daggers only on very special occasions such as military oath ceremonies or major parades on the Red Square in Moscow (or in the capital cities of Soviet republics). Unlike naval officers, Army, KGB and Air Force personnel usually wouldn't keep a dagger in their personal possession, but would instead be issued one to carry just for a day or two when needed. Therefore, most military officers outside the Navy would have no need for a parade belt with hangers, and such belts are consequently far more scarce than their naval counterparts.
GREAT item to accompany your Soviet Army or Air Force dirk, put on a Soviet military uniform, or display on its own. Shipping to US only !
