This badge is BEAUTIFULLY MADE!In Solid Brass with Gilt finish and high quality “hot baked” Enamels. Measures 48mm in height, 27 mm in width. Two-piece construction: the state emblem is aseparate superimposed part. The reverseof the badge has raised logo ЛМД (“LMD”) which stands for“Leningrad Mint”. The quality is really superb, typical of the Soviet Mintproduction.
The badge is in great condition. The gilt finish on the state emblem, edges and reverse of the badgeis bright, free of tarnish or verdigris - practically pristine. The enamel shows some miniscule surface flakes as well as some tiny manufacturingimperfections (our photos show an example, but all are in equally nicecondition.) The screw post is fulllength, about 9 mm measured from the reverse of the badge, and includes screwplate marked "Leningrad Monetnyi Dvor (Mint)" which is original tothe badge. The badge comes in its original factory wrapping paper and cardboardstorage box.
