Soviet State Jubilee Medal — "50 Years of the Soviet Militia" (1917–1967)
An original Soviet state award: the jubilee medal commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Soviet Militia (the USSR's police force), instituted November 1967 and awarded to Militia personnel in good standing at the time of the anniversary.
Cupronickel, 32mm. The obverse bears a radiant five-pointed star with hammer and sickle above a shield inscribed "50 LET" (50 Years), framed by oak and laurel branches. The reverse reads "V oznamenovanie pyatidesyatoy godovshchiny Sovetskoy Militsii 1917–1967" — In Commemoration of the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Soviet Militia. Complete on its original pentagonal suspension with the correct red and dark blue Militia ribbon and working pin.
As issued, these medals were unnamed. A solid, authentic piece of Cold War history for collectors of Soviet awards, police memorabilia, or 20th-century militaria.
Condition: Very good — bright surfaces, well-defined details, minor ribbon fraying at the fold (see photos of both sides)
