The name of the badge from the AVERS catalog No. 8, page 308, No. 1508. The badge was issued to members of the OSOAVIAKHIM shock brigades at enterprises, collective farms, state farms that had excellent military training.The Society for Assistance to Defense, Aviation and Chemical Construction (OSOAVIAKHIM) was founded on January 23, 1927. as a result of the merger of two defense organizations: AVIAKHIM and OSO (Society for Assistance to the Defense of the USSR). The society was given the task of developing mass defense work among the working people, to assist in the development of the aviation and chemical industries.In 1948, by decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR, the society was divided into three independent defense assistance societies: the army (DOSARM), aviation (DOSAV) and the fleet (DOSFLOT), which in 1951 merged into one DOSAAF society.
