I have a beautiful antique Dennison British Army officer\'sWW1 Dennison Compass (1917) marked batch IV (23194) on the outside and M 133546 on the inside.
Made by classic makers Dennison of Birmingham, UK, the back of the watch has the distictive broad arrow (three lines) to denote it was used in the military and issued to an officer.
It is in exceptional good shape, full working order. The compass float elegantly on its centre, even when you move it, and the hinge, lid and hook are all functioning perfectly. The inside of the lid in particular shines so well you can see your reflection -- very unusual for an item of this age that has seen service.
It is painted in gold and you can see the classic art deco period just approaching in the design.
A tiny bit of paint is missing from the tail of the arrow, other than that a perfect specimen, much prettier than the rusty ones you see elsewhere.
Will make a wonderful gift for any pocket watch, compass or military kit lover.
