AN ORIGINAL USARMY PATTERN 1874 BLACK LEATHER BELT AS USED DURING THE INDIAN WARS.

IT IS MARKED IN THE LEATHER "MAKER J D SMITH NEW YORK" . THIS IS AN EARLY SCARCE MAKER.

THIS IS A VERY GOOD SPECIMEN SHOWING FIELD USE WITH A COUPLE OF ENLARGE ADJUSTMENT HOLES. THE LEATHER IS LIVELY AND HAVING BEEN REFRESHED, IT LOOKS VERY GO BUT IT DOES SHOW ITS AGE. THE LEATHER IS VERY THIN FROM USE BUT IS SOUND WITH NO TEAR.

NOTE THAT IT DOES NOT HAVE THE SLIDING LOOP BUT CAN BE DISPLAYED WITHOUT IT.

THE BELT WILL MAKE A FINE DISPLAY WITH A BUCKLE.
