US Model 1860 Light Cavalry Sword Saber DJ Millard 1862 Antique - US Civil War:

Nice US Model 1860 light cavalry trooper sword by DJ Millard, dated 1862. Smallest in number of all M1860 contracts with only 10,000 made in 1862 and that date is on ricasso. Charles E Wilson (CEW)) inspection stamp on ricasso and pommel. 98 rack number on guard and pommel. Grip leather is almost 100% although on one side there is a split along seam (see pic). Grip wire appears to be missing a piece near front of guard and is anchored with a tiny brass brad or tack. Very nice unsharpened blade but has some spotting from dried oil or cosmoline. Washer intact. Will throw in a relic scabbard that fits sword but not original and in tough shape. See final 2 pics for that.
