US WW2 8th Air Force NAMED Uniform Jacket Grouping DFC Air Medal Blue Back Wings:
$495.00

For sale here is a great looking US WW2 Army Air Corps AAC USAAF Named Uniform Grouping. The Grouping is from the estate of Ralph Rosentreter of Indiana. The Grouping includes Class A Uniform Jacket, Shirt, Tie, Pinks Pants, Cased Air Medal, Cased Distinguished Flying Cross, and 3 original photographs. There is plenty of basic information out there on Rosentreter. It was easy to find his obituary, and it is obvious that these pictures are of a young Ralph. The only piece here named to Rosentreter is the neck tie and the envelope that the pictures were found in.
The Class A jacket is tailor made and is complete with belt. All buttons are present. It does show use, age, wear, and a few piques, but is in great overall condition. The left shoulder has a hand sewn British made felt 8th patch. The collar pins are all clutch back with flat faced clutches. The 1st Lieutenant rank is a matched pair of British made pin back unmarked bars that appear to be Sterling from the patina. The ribbon bar is a pin back American made waxy ribbon bar. The ribbon bar includes a Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters Present(1 has fallen off), and an ETO ribbon with 4 battle stars. Above the ribbon bar, there is a blue wool fur felt box that has been neatly hand sewn on. Inside of the blue combat box, there is a beautiful set of pin back A.E. Co. Utica NY Sterling Navigator Wings. Rosentreter\'s award cards show that he did in fact, win a DFC and Air Medal with 4 clusters. The award cards are included in the photos. The jacket is tailor marked inside, but it is not named anywhere that i can find. This really is a beautiful been together jacket.
The pants are pinks elastique wool material and are named to an Officer named Dale. These are in excellent overall condition with all buttons, snaps, and zippers functional.
The shirt was made by Jayson, and shows considerable wear with some soiling, but it is solid and complete with all buttons. This shirt is a large 17 X 34 size, and it too is named to another officer that i cannot make out the name of.
The tie is a khaki wool tie that remains tied that is nicely named to Rosentreter. The tie is in good lightly worn condition.
The Air Medal and Distinguished Flying Cross are not named, but they are cased and in good condition. The Air Medal is missing it\'s ribbon, but it is a nice early wrap brooch. The cases function fine, and both lapel pins are present.
The photos are all original and were found in an envelope in the pocket with the German spelling of Rosentreter\'s named. Ralf Rosentretter. It is very clear from the picture of Ralph wearing the A2 that he aged into the obituary photos you can find of Rosentreter online.
Ideally, you would love for the jacket to be named, but these came right out of Rosentreter\'s estate years ago and have been kept together. It is obvious looking at the jacket that everything here has been together forever, and the award cards match up to be exactly what we are looking at here. This is a great grouping that will make a wonderful addition to any collection.
