USSR: Two solid bronze patriotic plaques of Joseph Stalin& Vladimir Lenin ca. 1930’s-1940’s. 1) Heavy, solid bronze, high reliefplaque of Stalin and Lenin, ca. 110 mm in diameter; there is no maker’smark. The reverse side of the plaquedoes not appear to have ever been attached to anything, indicating that it maywell have been used as a paper weight. The plaque is in near extremely finecondition, with some light verdigris to the right of Stalin’s profile. 2) Solidbronze plaque of Lenin, ca. 120 mm in diameter; the engraver/maker’s markappears at the 5 o’clock obverse position. The plaque is in near extremely finecondition; the reverse side has what appears to be an epoxy-like residue,indicating that it was once attached to a wall or other object.
