For your consideration, I predent this vintage lot of original U.S. Military Ribbon Bars. These represent various U.S. military service, campaign, and commendation ribbons. Based on color patterns and devices:
The ribbon with green, white, and red stripes, often with stars, matches the Vietnam Service Medal ribbon, which denotes service during the Vietnam War. Bronze service stars indicate participation in campaigns. The ribbon with alternating thin red and white stripes matches the National Defense Service Medal ribbon, awarded for honorable active service during designated periods of national emergency. The ribbon with blue, white, red pattern matches the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, awarded for participation in U.S. military operations, U.S. operations in direct support of the UN, or U.S. operations of assistance for friendly foreign nations. The ribbon with rainbow-like bands is typical of the Army Service Ribbon or Overseas Service Ribbon, denoting completion of initial entry training or overseas service. The tan/brown banded ribbon is likely the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal or possibly a Southwest Asia Service Medal for Gulf War service. The ribbon with a star and green coloring may also correspond to Vietnam-related awards, specifically combinations of U.S. and Vietnamese awards often authorized to be worn together. Chevron Patch: The gold on blue chevron patch corresponds to U.S. Army enlisted rank insignia, most likely a Staff Sergeant (E-6) or a similar NCO rank from the Army or Marines, depending on the shape and device. Chevron ranks are worn on the sleeve and signify positions of leadership.
