Vintage Navy League of the United States (USNL) dimensional fiberglass wall plaque featuring a large raised gold anchor and rope motif on a deep navy-blue background.
The reverse retains its original metallic manufacturer’s label identifying the piece as a Sculptural Promotions, Inc., New York, N.Y. fiberglass product. Sculptural Promotions was a U.S. manufacturer known to have produced organizational plaques and other molded display pieces.
Measures approximately 15 inches in diameter.
The USNL anchor emblem is associated with the Navy League of the United States, a civilian maritime-support organization. This piece is being offered as a vintage Navy League organizational/display plaque and is not known if it was an official U.S. Navy-issued item.
The plaque is molded fiberglass with considerable relief/detail, including the raised anchor, rope, lettering and twisted-rope outer border. The gold, navy blue and white color combination gives it a striking nautical/military appearance.
Condition: Vintage pre-owned condition with age-related surface wear, scratches, scuffs and minor finish loss. There is one area of chipping on the inner edges. Original manufacturer’s foil label remains attached to the back. Please review all photographs closely as they are an important part of the condition description.
Exact date of manufacture is unknown. Based upon its construction, styling and manufacturer’s labeling, it appears to be a mid-to-late 20th-century piece.
