Vintage Brass U.S Navy Anchor Room/Door ID. USS Carrillo WWI? Due to the fact that there is the number 1406 engraved on the back of the brass anchor, it is believed that this item may be from the USS Carrillo ( ID # 1406 ) which was a WWI ship acquired by the U.S. Navy and commissioned in September 1918. During the remainder of WWI and for some months after November 1918, she made trans-Atlantic round trip voyages, carrying food and other cargo in support of U.S. forces in France and returning U.S. soldiers back home. The ship was decommissioned in late April 1919. The item shows wear consistent with age.The condition is as seen in the photos.
