Provenance: The seller\'s great grandmother, Ellen Elizabeth Hulings Willams (lower-left corner) lived in Virginia while my great grandfather, John Edmund Hindon Hyde, lived in New York City where he was an attorney and editor of the New York Law Review. The Civil War made for some family friction, as can be seen in Ellen\'s expression. The man leaning over Ellen is the sellers great grand uncle who fought with the Confederacy. Ellen clearly was not happy. Her sentiments were with the seller\'s great grandfather and not with her blood family, although they did not own slaves. The seller has multipleDaguerreotypes of the family, which allow him to sell extras. hence the origins of this. TheDaguerreotype\'s measurements:Height: 5 inchesWidth: 3 5/8th inches
