GetM1ForTheRoad™

Here at 'Get M1 For The Road', we're big fans of ALL things M1 helmet related! Lately we've found ourselves with too many M1 items and not enough free space, so it's time to thin the herd a bit. Our loss is your gain! Up for grabs - right here, right now, right away -is an M1 shell from the late 60's (Vietnam War Era) and a matching liner.Further details are listed below:Details:This helmet is complete, but it's seen better days. Without further adieu, here are all of the details:IN GENERAL:I've had the liner (hardhat) and shell (lid) for awhile, but I'm trying to trim the fat abit. The Captain bar decals are NOT military issue. No doubt some kid-iot applied them at some point. Feel free to remove them.
LINER: This one is a green vinyl version of the'P64' model (but with anorange tint)and is in pretty good overall condition. There's a stamp in the crown which reads "6". This is probably an incomplete stamp and it SHOULD read "US 6" with the letters above the number. I haven't figured out who the maker of these type of liners was, but the US meant that the Government owned the mold. The liner/suspension is from '69 (hard to see in the pic), the nape strap is from '85, and the headband is from '79 (both of these got replaced often). The biggest flaw of the liner is that the leather needs some conditioner (which I don't have). Also, the 'A' washers and band clips have some corrosion.SHELL: This one was made by Ingersoll between 1966 & 1968. The heat stamp reads 'I 7593'. There's rust all around it, but it does still have the original paint (It would make a good candidate for a re-paint). It has post-Vietnam chin straps. This guy's been through some stuff, no doubt. I can't say for CERTAIN that it saw action in Vietnam, but it definitely COULD have. Not to mention the fact that it appears to have stayed in service through the 80's.
IN CONCLUSION: It's in good shape and there's nothing broken (like the webbing, rim, or bales). There are no dents, just scratches and rust. It's 'been there', so please look carefully at all of the photos before you even THINK about buying - I don't do refunds.NOTE:I usually have a number of other items listed as well. I WILL put together bundle deals to save you money. Just let me know before buying. Also, I have a few spare (post-WWII) M1 parts, so just ask if you're looking for anything in take a look at the pics and item specifics for any other information you may require.
