Up For sale is a beautifully preserved military grade vintage Indian "Allied" gear wheel contract Kukri set. This is a heavy-duty authentic field tool, not a lightweight modern tourist replica.
• Burma Theater Pedigree: Stamped "Tempered Steel Made In India" with the iconic "Allied" gear logo, directly linking its production lineage to emergency jungle warfare contracts commissioned by British Gen. William Slim during World War 2.
• Combat Specifications: Weighs a formidable 23 oz, with a massive 8 mm to 10 mm thick spine, featuring a traditional hand forged distal taper.
• Traditional Pand-Peened Build: Built with a traditional through-tang driven through a solid, single piece hardwood handle. Secured at the base by a diamond brass keeper plate with a steel tang permanently hand-hammered (peened) over top. Blacksmith's hammer marks are clearly visible.
• Kit: The kit includes a matching raw carbon steel Chakmak, hone tool, (No Karta) and original black leather scabbard, featuring rugged double belt loops and a dark oxidized iron protective tip. (Note: The original small leather laces are missing, leaving the holes open in an honest, un-tampered state)
• Condition: Excellent vintage collectors condition. The raw carbon steel blade is sharp and entirely free of deep pitting, preserving a crisp logo stamp. The hardwood handle is rock solid, with no cracks or splits. The leather scabbard remains structurally sound with tight stitching and honest age appropriate surface scuffs.
