Two types of garrison caps were worn in WWII: the \'issue cap\', which was the cap issued to all troops by the US Army Quartermaster & the \'PX cap\'. The issue cap had a pleated top & was the descendant of WW1 garrison caps. The PX cap were privately purchased by service members in the PX or from department stores & tailor shops....these caps were rectangular with corners on the top & no pleat. The PX style is very popular for reenactments due to its sharp profile. This cap is an original WW2 cap in excellent condition....does not appear to have been worn at all & there\'s no service number stamped inside. Made by Figmor Uniform Cap Company between 1939 & 1945 of olive green wool with a leather sweatband & a fully lined light olive green satiny interior. Size is 7 & 3/8. Gold & black officers\' piping is in excellent condition. Unfortunately, the photos do not show the proper shade of olive drab that is seen with the naked eye.
