WW1 Austrian Bravery Medal, Wound medal, Tyrol Medal Group etc 100% GenuineThe medals are:-
- The Austrian Bronze Bravery Medal - Awarded to non-commissioned officers and other ranks for a deed of bravery in war. This medal was instituted on the 19th July 1789 in 3 classes : the Gold Medal, the Large Silver Medal (also called 1st Class Silver Medal) and the Small Silver Medal (2nd Class Silver Medal). On the 14th February 1915 a Bronze Medal (50% bronze, 50% gunmetal) was added.
- The Austrian Wound Medal - The Wound Medal (German: Verwundetenmedaille) was a decoration of the Empire of Austria-Hungary. It was established on August 12th, 1917 by Emperor Karl and was the last medal to be officially founded in the empire.
- The Austrian Officer's long Service Cross for 25 years Service Medal - Awarded to serving officers for 25 Years Military Service. This particular medal is an early, pre WW1, luxurious variation with nacre (mother of pearl) coating on the reverse side (this would have been issued between 1890 – 1918).
The Austrian (General) War Service Medal 1873 - On his 25th Jubilee, in December 1873, Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria instituted the 'Kriegsmedaille' (War Medal). The medal shows on the obverse the Emperor's head surrounded by a laurel wreath and on the reverse the date '2.December 1873' (those showing the spelling Dezember where produced after 1900). It was suspended from a ribbon in the Habsburg colours of black and yellow. The medal was awarded to military personnel who had taken part in a least one action since 1848. Later the award of the medal was extended to military personnel who had taken part campaigns after 1873, until the Kaiser's death in November 1916.
The Austrian Golden Jubilee of Kaiser Franz Joseph Military Medal - Established on the 21st October 1898 by Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria, it commemorates 50 years of his reign.
The Austrian 1908 Military Jubilee Cross - The 1908 Military Jubilee Cross (1908 Militär-Jubiläumskreuz or the 1908 Katonai Jubileumi Kereszt) was instituted on the 10th August 1908 (published on the 18th August 1908) to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the rule of Kaiser Franz Joseph I which occurred on the 2nd December 1908. In the case of multiple qualification for one of the 3 various Jubilee awards, this award was restricted to only one per person. The military version was considered the highest, the civil was the middle (exactly the same as the military version but for a solid red ribbon), while the court version was the lowest – which was quite a change from the 1898 Jubilee awards!
The Tyrol Province Remembrance Medal - Awarded to all Tiroleans who served in the First World War and also to those who, between 1915 and 1918 participated in defending the Tirol Province (amongst them were German mountain troops). This bronze gilt medal was instituted on the 7th February 1928 and awards were stopped at the end of March 1940. During that period some 120,000 were awarded.
