WW1 GERMAN Engraved blade Field Artillery SWORD:

WW1 German Field Artillery Sword attributed to \'Rhein Field Artillery Regiment\' No. 83.Exterior of this sword shows extensive usage in it\'s active years.The nickel plating to metal parts of hilt has mostly peeled away and left a dark rough appearance.On the positive side, the blade is beautifully engraved with high lighted military motif.It bears scenes of horse mounted artillerymen pulling cannon, crossed sabers & cannon barrels,along with an image of a horse\'s head. Even the spine of the blade is decorated with a running laurelvine.The guard is stamped with regimental markings, \"83 A. 3. 51\".Sword measures 37\" overall with a 32\" blade.Comes with a single ring steel black painted scabbard, that it too shows extensive age & wear along with several notable surface dents.Overall a very interesting piece.
