This WW2 US Army M3 M1911 Air Crew Tanker Leather Shoulder Holster is in fair condition overall and has been modified from it\'s original form. The holster is maker marked on it\'s backside, the stamp reading \"U. S. ENGER KRESS 1943,\" as well as retaining the name of a previous owner. The name is very faintly inscribed but the abbreviation \"CAPT.\" can clearly be read. All remaining hardware is clean and functions as you would expect. The leather is mostly strong however there are areas that show more wear than others and appear to be weaker, especially near the \"newly\" added retention tab. The original shoulder strap has been removed as well as the belt retention strap. In place of the shoulder strap is a leather tab with a steel retention ring. These modifications do not show the same age as the other components of this holster making it uncertain to say when they were carried out, however it is very likely they were done Post-War. Please examine the photographs carefully for the best description of condition.
