WWI France War Wounded Medal & Ribbon w/ Red Enamel Star AwardThe Bronze and Red Enamel Medal is in very good overall condition,the ribbon shows wear, please see the photos.The Insigne des Blesses Militaires(Insignia for Military Wounded) was established by law on December 11, 1916,as the official token medal for French military personnel who sustained physical injuries from enemy action during WW1.While it originally began as a simple ribbon stripe, it evolved into a highly collected series badges and medals toleratedby military authorities before finally being elevated to a formal state medal in the 21st century.
