Replica sling for the German Gew.88 Mauser rifle, this is the first pattern with the sewn in buckle and the leather button attachment for the detachable swivel. There is no detachable swivel included with this sling, it includes the parade loop which is original hardware, the leather button which is original, and the slidingbuckle which is newly made. The sling is made just like the original German Model according to ordnance drawings and following the pictures and descriptions from Paul Pietsch's book on Prussian equipment and uniforms. Made of saddle leather, stitched with natural linen thread in the same pattern as the original. Leather is dyed medium brown, again just like the original slings. Metal is the same pattern as the original. I make the slings myself, from cutting, to dyeing, to stitching. I have been making these slings for over 40 years. Original slings are impossible to find and would be 3-4 times the price of this sling.
