WWII 1942 MARYLAND MINUTE MEN RESERVE MILITIA ARMBAND Vintage World War 2:
$26.00

In super nice, original condition with no holes, no moth chews, etc. Made of black felt with yellow/gold felt letters and embroidered minuteman patch, it measures 18\" long x 3 1/4\" wide at the center (the minuteman patch). At the beginning of the war with Germany, the Germans launched submarine attacks on US shipping and espionage against the coastal regions including the night time landing of German sailors on the beaches to infiltrate and/or secure supplies. Many of the sailors were actually sympathetic American expatriots who had left the US for Germany and were incorporated into the navy for just such operations. Because of this, The Maryland Minute Men Reserve Militia was established by Maryland Governor Herbert O\'Coner on March 10, 1942 to insure the \"local protection against paratroops, saboteurs, or organized raiding parties\".....and \"enemy sympathizers within our state.\" Very nice piece and very hard to come by.
