WWII JAPANESE TYPE 30 ARISAKA BAYONET & SCABBARD, EARLY STYLE w/ GORGEOUS BLADE.:
$249.99

This listing is for a very nice, clean example of the classic early WWII style Japanese Type 30 bayonet for the Arisaka infantry rifle. This bayonet exhibits all very early features, to include a \"birds head\" pommel, early contoured hilt, forward-sweeping guard, and very nice, bright blade. The makers mark I believe denotes manufacture by the \"Nagoya\" arsenal. The bayonet shows signs of having been issued, but by its condition I\'d venture to say it didn\'t see a lot of use. There is thinning of the scabbard bluing near the frog loop which would indicate that it was carried in a belt frog at some point in its past. The blade is really, really nice, exhibiting a bright original finish, and the original, factory-applied 3/4 edge. The arsenal mark at the ricasso is crisply struck. The steel surfaces of the hilt, guard, and pommel show most of their original blued finish w/ some areas of thinning and a few spots of surface oxidation, but remains in overall quite nice shape, as do the wooden grips, which only exhibit some typical handling marks and light dings, but nice patina from age overall. The flat surface of the pommel below the mortise slot exhibits the bayonet\'s SN. The blued steel scabbard is straight throughout, and retains most of its original finish. There are a few areas of surface oxidation evident near the finial tip, but are not detracting, (IMO). If you\'re in the market for a very nice, very attractive example of an early WWII vintage Japanese rifle bayonet, with which to either kit out your Arisaka rifle or as a stand-alone excellent representative Japanese bayonet, don\'t miss this one. Once plentiful, even these are becoming quite difficult to find these days.....!
