WWII Ribbon Bar 5th Infantry Division General SOVIET ORDER Recipient Original:
$429.99

Up for offers is a lovely ribbon bar that belonged to Brigadier General Harold Cornelius Vanderveer.
It features an impressive array of US and foreign decorations, including the Soviet Order of the Red Star. Vanderveer served with the US Marine Corps from 1907-1911 and the US Army from 1935-1946.
During WWII he was Commanding Officer Artillery, 5th Infantry Division in the European Theater of Operations. He was awarded the Legion of Merit w/ Oak Leaf Cluster, Bronze Star, Air Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal. Vanderveer's foreign decorations include the Soviet Order of the Red Star, French Legion of Honor, French Cross De Guerre w/ Palm, Czechoslovak War Cross 1939–1945, and the Luxembourg War Cross.
This set was attributed through research. I have other ribbon bars that belonged to the General, but they are not for sale.
This bar is separated into two pieces, and retains some stitches, evidence of being sewn on a uniform. See photos for details and condition.
