WWII U.S.N. Pocket Knife 3 Blade May Have USS Indianapolis ConnectionI acquired this knife from a man whose collector father had recently passed away. The man told me that his father had purchased a number of items from a Colonel Lawrence, (the person who wrote the note and supposedly received the knife from the estate of the crew member of the Indianapolis.) I cannot say if the story is true though I did find reference to a Colonel Lawrence running a museum.
Regardless, it is a great knife with a nice story!
I will include the story and the name and address of the Colonel. If the story can somehow be authenticated, it will be worth much more than my asking price!
