1940 WW2 Soviet Red Army Soldiers Budenovka Photo Latvia Occupation RKKA USSR For Sale

Up for sale is an authentic, 100% original World War II era photograph featuring two Soviet RKKA (Red Army) soldiers posing in a photo studio with a small Christmas tree and a tiny bust on the stand. This wonderful double portrait captures a historic military transition: the soldier on the left wears a classic winter Budenovka hat, while the soldier on the right wears the newly introduced Ushanka winter hat with a sleeve rank insignia patch.Taken in Latvia around December 1940 - January 1941, it captures a very brief historical window after the Soviet entry into the Baltic states but before the German invasion in June 1941. Highly sought after due to being printed by a local Latvian studio on premium European photo paper. The reverse features the original pre-war Latvian \"Fotokartiņa\" postcard print with old album paper and bone glue residues. Collectors note: you can safely soak it in lukewarm water for a few minutes to clean the back completely without damaging the print. Sharp details.
