📌 DESCRIPTION
Representing Predator Troop of the legendary 3rd Cavalry Regiment (Brave Rifles), this impressive challenge coin celebrates the traditions, professionalism, and cavalry heritage of one of the U.S. Army’s most recognizable formations. The combination of troop identity, command leadership, and classic cavalry symbolism gives this piece broad appeal among collectors of modern Army, cavalry, and Ranger-associated memorabilia.
The obverse centers on the distinctive Predator Troop guidon, identified by the classic red-and-white cavalry troop flag marked with the “3” for the 3rd Cavalry Regiment and the “P” for Predator Troop. Surrounding the guidon are the Brave Rifles distinctive unit insignia, the 4th “Longknife” Squadron crest, and the command team represented by Captain rank insignia for Forsberg and First Sergeant rank insignia for Thomas, each paired with traditional crossed cavalry sabers. Completing the design is the troop motto “OWN THE NIGHT,” reinforcing the unit’s emphasis on reconnaissance, mobility, and tactical excellence.
The reverse prominently features a Ranger Tab above crossed cavalry sabers alongside the bold inscription “FOR EXCELLENCE.” Together these elements create a striking design that reflects leadership, professionalism, and the proud cavalry heritage carried forward by the regiment.
Large-format troop-specific challenge coins featuring this level of unit detail are becoming increasingly difficult to encounter on the secondary collector market, making examples like this especially desirable to collectors of 3rd Cavalry Regiment, Brave Rifles, modern U.S. Army, cavalry, and unit-specific challenge coins.
