East German DDR Silver Service Maritime Transport &Inland Navigation Award Medal For Sale

DESCRIPTION:
You are purchasing an authentic East German Silver Medal for 20 Years Loyal Services in Maritime Transport and Inland Navigation.(Medaille für treue Dienste im Seeverkehr und Binnenschiffahrt) Established on July 1, 1965, by the Council of Ministers of the German Democratic Republic (DDR). It served as a vital tool in East Germany's state socialist system to reward economic performance and loyalty in the crucial maritime sector. Because the country relied heavily on its state-owned merchant fleet (Handelsmarine) and canal systems for international trade and domestic supply, the medal was created to incentivize workers, lower turnover rates, and promote communist party loyalty among sailors who frequently traveled to capitalist nations. A great piece of Cold War history from a country that no longer exists.
