HSC-3 Merlins Command Master Chief Jose Pena US Navy Challenge Coin 3 Inch
⭐ KEY FEATURES
• HSC-3 Merlins oversized U.S. Navy command challenge coin measuring approximately 3 inches
• Personalized for CMDCM Jose Pena with “Presented For Excellence” and Command Master Chief insignia
• Dual-sided design combining vivid squadron enamel artwork with a deeply textured diamond-plate reverse and four raised warfare insignia
📌 DESCRIPTION
This oversized Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron THREE (HSC-3) Merlins challenge coin combines squadron identity with the personal leadership profile of Command Master Chief Jose Pena. At approximately 3 inches in diameter, it has substantial visual presence compared with conventional challenge coins, while the personalized CMDCM design and “Presented For Excellence” inscription give it a strong command-level collector focus.
The colorful HSC-3 side displays the squadron emblem against a divided blue-and-white field surrounded by bold red-and-white concentric rings. An eagle with outstretched wings appears above a globe, while the orange banner reads “HELSEACOMBATRON THREE.” The outer lettering carries the direct leadership message “NO EXCUSES” and “STAY DISCIPLINED.” HSC-3, known as the Merlins, serves the naval aviation community as the West Coast Fleet Replacement Squadron for the MH-60S Seahawk from Naval Air Station North Island.
The reverse shifts dramatically in appearance, using a dark raised diamond-plate field surrounding a gold-tone center medallion. “PRESENTED FOR EXCELLENCE” arches above the U.S. Navy Command Master Chief insignia, with COMMAND beneath it and CMDCM JOSE PENA identified along the lower edge. Four silver-tone warfare insignia surround the center, adding depth, contrast, and a strong visual connection to Navy operational qualifications.
