Mongolian Award Certificate for a"Nairamdal" Friendship Medal, awarded on 20 March 1968 to BorisLazarevich Pustokhin (Борис Лазаревич Пустохин).
As evident from his name, therecipient was undoubtedly a Soviet citizen.
The document is a hard boundbooklet with leatherette cover. The internal pages show the serial number ofthe medal (1359), date and number of the award decree, and the name of therecipient (judging by the sure style of the handwriting, the latter wasfilled-in by someone who was fluent in Russian or even more likely, by a Sovietcitizen). The document is in excellent condition. This is Guaranteed 100% ORIGINAL officially issued awarddocument from 1968 - not a recent reissue or a replica!
A search in the Russianmilitary archives revealed that there was a military officer in the Red Army bythe same exact name who fought in WW2 as artillery battery commander and wasawarded with an Order of the Red Star for actions against the Japanese duringthe crossing of the Greater Khingan Mountain Range in August 1945 (during the shortSoviet campaign against Japan). We cannot be absolutely certain that this isthe same Pustokhin as the recipient of the Mongolian document, but because hisfirst and patronymic name are pretty uncommon, all the chances are that this isindeed the same person. It is made even more likely by the fact that Pustokhinearned his WW2 decoration while serving in the Far East and probably stayed inthe same general geographic area after the war. We will include a b/w copy ofhis award recommendation for the Order of the Red Star from the Russianarchives at no charge (translation is not included).
