Mosin-Nagant Rifle Combination Tool
Mosin–Nagant “combination tool” (Russian: often called a kombinirovannyy instrument). It’s a simple stamped-steel multi-tool issued with Mosin rifles (Model 1891/30, M38, M44, etc.) for basic field maintenance and, importantly, checking/setting the rifle’s firing pin protrusion. These tools were often issued in Mosin cleaning kits (along with an oil bottle, jag, brush, patches, etc.) and were designed to keep the rifle serviceable with minimal equipment—important because Mosins were produced and used in enormous numbers.
Firing pin protrusion gauge (most important use) ◦ The two notches/cutouts are a go / no-go gauge for the firing pin tip sticking out of the bolt face.Screwdriver ◦ The flat end works as a driver for various screws
