Soviet Armored Corps Warrant Officer ServiceVisor Hat, dated 1985.
This is a GUARANTEED ORIGINAL piece of military headgear made in the Soviet Union in 1985 exclusively for the use by a military officer, NOT a civilian item, souvenir or reproduction.
Thecrown is in olive drab wool blend twill, with a black velvet band and redpiping. Includes the appropriate black plastic chin cord and officer servicecockade. The sweat shield has the logo of the TsEPK military garment factory inMoscow, partly worn out but still clearly recognizable under a UV light or verybright regular light. The sweat label shows an “85” year of manufacture andsize 56 (approx. US size 7 / Medium). There is a factory “OTK” quality controlstamp in white ink on the underside of the sweat band.
Thehat is in GREAT CONDITION. The exterior is very clean and free of any mothdamage or tracks. The plastic visor is free of scuffs or scratches. There issome staining to the liner around the sweat diamond, and wear to the logo. Thesweat band has no staining or tears, only a modest amount of wear. There are acouple of small discoloration spots on the black band, but they are completelyhidden under the chin strap and may clean off nicely if desired.
