Badge ofa Record-Setting Winner (ABSOLUTE CHAMPION) of a USSR PARACHUTE JUMPCOMPETITION, DOSAAF Organization issue, Official Russian REPLICA made at theMoscow Mint (Mint marked MMD).
Thisbadge is of the same quality as the original, in gilded brass with beautifuldetails and top notch “hot baked” enamels.Measures 39 x 23 mm. The parachute is a separate superimposed part heldby rivets. A “Novodel” in Russian terminology, it was made specifically formuseum and collectors using ORIGINAL manufacturing methods. To distinguish itfrom original pieces, it has a Latin character “R” (for replica) on thereverse. The reverse also shows mint mark “MMD” (Moscow Mint). Judging by themint mark and overall quality of the badge, it was made in the mid to late 90s.The original Soviet era badge is extremely rare, but this Mint replica is quitescarce in its own right!
