SovietMedal of a Veteran of the Armed Forces of the USSR.
This is a GUARANTEED100% ORIGINAL Soviet-made decoration made at the USSR Mint and officiallyduring the 1970s-80s – this is NOT a replica or a souvenir! It was awarded toactive-duty servicemen, usually officers, for 25 years of uninterruptedservice. Despite its name, the medal was issued not only to the personnel ofall branches of the Soviet Armed Forces, but also to eligible officers in theKGB Border Guards and MVD Internal Army troops. Unlike jubilee medals of thepost-war period, this medal was issued only to active-duty personnel, not toretirees, so it’s far less common than many other Soviet medals of the period.
The medal is very wellmade, showing typical quality of the Soviet Mint manufacture. The medallion isin silver plated brass with high quality “hot baked” red enamel covering thestar; it measures 32 mm in diameter. There is a mint mark “LMD” of the LeningradMint stamped on the eyelet.
The medal is in GREATcondition! It shows no noticeable wear and only some blemishes on the reversethat add character. The enamel on the red star is perfect, and the black finishon the obverse is completely intact. All details are perfectly defined andsharp. The ribbon shows some age but is still well-preserved and nice.
