FOR SALEOriginal 1972 official award
On April 4, 1972, by Order No. 039 of the USSR Ministry of Defense, the “Pilot-Sniper” and “Navigator-Sniper” badges were established.
The idea for the badge came from I.N. Kozhedub, First Deputy Commander of the Moscow Military District Aviation, three-time Hero of the Soviet Union, and then Colonel General of Aviation. He chaired the committee that developed the regulations, which decided to name this highest level of airmanship \"Pilot (Navigator)-Sniper.\"
At the same time, a military pilot (navigator) classification certificate was introduced, covering all levels from 3rd class to sniper. The design for the badge was created by artists from the magazine \"Aviation and Cosmonautics.\" The final revision was completed by A.B. Zhuk, artist of the Technical Committee of the State Institution of the USSR Ministry of Defense.Condition good
