The first reference in English describing research process, retelling award narratives, and attempting to place serial-number spreads. The volume features the widest published collection of Soviet awards’ serial numbers and awarding information. This tabulated information is further expounded upon by actual, contemporary award citations describing a selection of the feats for which the awards were granted. An added bonus is provided by period photographs and detailed maps to place the items in an historical, as well as geographical context.
Not only will researchers delight in this addition to the library of existing references, but the more general reader interested in militaria or the Eastern Front will also find much of interest.
192-pages, large-format book chocked full with color photos, operational maps, and unpublished period photos.
