1992 World Memorial Day commemorative pin badge with its accompanying numbered presentation card, 046163.
This badge was made using metal from scrapped Soviet SS20 and American Pershing II missiles donated by the Russian and American governments to The Memorial Fund for Disaster Relief. Launched for the first World Memorial Day on January 1, 1992, the project symbolized the historic changes occurring at the end of the Cold War while raising funds for disaster relief.
The silver-colored badge features a whistle design and World Memorial Day lettering. Includes the clutch fastener shown on the reverse of the card.
Condition: The badge shows light surface wear. The presentation card has substantial creasing, edge and corner wear, and age-related discoloration. Please review both photographs carefully for condition.
An interesting Cold War commemorative connecting Soviet and American missile disarmament with humanitarian relief. You will receive the exact badge and card pictured.
