This is the U.S. Army Infantry crossed rifles patch, the branch mark of the rifleman, shown as two crossed flintlock muskets in gold.
The infantry dates to 1775 and is the Army\'s oldest fighting arm. Its soldiers serve as 11B riflemen and 11C mortarmen, wear light blue infantry cord, and earn the Expert Infantryman Badge or the Combat Infantryman Badge. The branch is called the Queen of Battle, and the Infantry School motto is Follow Me.
The patch measures 4 by 2 inches, has a cut edge trimmed to the two muskets, and has an iron-on backing.
Sew it on a jacket or a reunion vest, mount it beside your CIB in a shadow box, or give it to a new infantryman heading to his first unit.
