Original vintage WWII-era photograph showing a group of German soldiers posed together, with the reverse identifying the presence of a Bulgarian officer.
The handwritten caption on the back reads:
“Gruppe mit bulgarischen Leutnant”
(“Group with Bulgarian lieutenant”)
This indicates that the group includes or is associated with a Bulgarian lieutenant, reflecting the cooperation between Axis-aligned forces during World War II.
The photograph shows six uniformed soldiers standing in formation, including one central figure in a more formal officer-style tunic and cap. The composition and uniforms make this a strong example of wartime military portrait photography.
Images documenting interactions between German and allied Axis personnel are less commonly encountered and are of particular interest to collectors focused on multinational military history of the period.
