FOR SALEOriginal Soviet MedalThe "80th Anniversary of the Komsomol" medal was established on October 14, 1998, and is a commemorative non-governmental award. The award's statute stipulates that it should be awarded to veterans of the Komsomol movement, as well as to young men and women who actively participate in strengthening friendship between peoples. By personal example, recipients of the award are expected to instill in the younger generation a spirit of loyalty and the ideals of Marxism-Leninism.
The "80th Anniversary of the Komsomol" medal is an award made of non-ferrous metal. The medallion is round and 35 mm in diameter. The main side of the award features a relief portrait of V.I. Lenin, facing right, against the backdrop of a waving banner. The banner itself was painted red enamel. Below it is a two-line inscription: "80 Years" and "VLKSM." A laurel branch is depicted on the right side.
On the other side of the medal, near the top edge, is a depiction of all the awards of the Lenin Komsomol—three Orders of Lenin, the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, the Order of the Red Banner, and the Order of the October Revolution. In the central section, a commemorative date, "1918-1998," appears in two lines, representing the years of the organization's existence. On the right side is a depiction of a laurel branch. All the designs and inscriptions on the insignia are raised.
The award is attached to a pentagonal ribbon bar by a loop and ring. The medal's ribbon is red and edged with gold stripes, each 2 mm wide. The overall width of the ribbon is 24 mm. The insignia is worn on the recipient's left chest. If you're looking to purchase a souvenir replica of the "80th Anniversary of the Komsomol" medal, we offer one at an affordable price.
