SovietMembership Badge of the All-Union Society of Friends of Museums of the
Revolution, circa mid to late-1930s issue.
This isGuaranteed 100% ORIGINAL badge from the early Soviet period - not a recent reissueor a replica!
Made in brass-plated and silver-plated magnetic steel and enamels; 25.2 mm tall at theflagpole, 30.8 mm wide (measured along the wide side of the parallelogram).Shows portraits of the communist "deities": Marx, Engels, Lenin andStalin. Note that Stalin looks relatively young, as characteristic of hispre-WW2 images.
The badgeis in SUPERB condition, absolutely fantastic for a Soviet badge of such anearly issue. The enamel is essentially perfect and shows beautiful luster;there are just a few tiny contact marks and miniscule flakes that are almost completelyunnoticeable to the unaided eye. The details of the portraits are perfect andcrisp, showing almost no wear. Traces of the original silver finish are presentin the recessed areas of the portraits, while the silver finish on the reverseis practically pristine. The original copper screw post is full length, approx.9.5 mm. The screw plate is a replacement dating to 1950s, but it fits the screwpost perfectly.
